What the hell happened to October?

I guess I've been busy lately. Again. Still. A bunch.
Mostly, I just kinda took the month off. Also again. At least from this site. Though I have been working occasionally on wastedinc.com a bit. I'd probably be done with that by now, but there have been various problems: mostly that half the stuff I'd made for white shirts went missing as sourcefiles at some point, and the process for putting images on black shirts is somewhat different. So, in updating the whole site to have stuff on white shirts, black shirts, and whatever, I'm also searching for sourcefiles on old discs, giving up, trying to replicate them in CS2, giving up, trying again, and sometimes getting it to work. Then progress is made. Slowly.
More importantly, I've been playing videogames and stuff. Because Hunter liked NetFlix.com enough that she also signed up with GameFly.com, snailrenting every game I'd never thought looked worth buying. Of course, I was wrong about a few of them. Including Lego StarWars. Which was really odd, since I tend to hate cinematic games. Though I do kinda dig Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis [which Hunter can't stand], especially since I cracked the Windoze version to allow every genus into the park at once. Maybe I just like to point and laugh when Gallimimus bullatus is grouped in with the herbivores.
Almost on the subject, I happened to see a show on some SmartPeople cablechannel last night about tyrannosaurs. The biggest bit of news was that the tyrannosauridae survived well into the Cenozoic, as evidenced by CG rexi stumbling about on the grass. Or, someone completely fucked up, and no one noticed before the animation was approved. Also, Horner is still maintaining that the rex was a scavenger, while Carpenter [Go Denver] got to show off the healing tryannosaur bite in the dorsal vertebra of our E.annectens; somewhere in there, it even got suggested that the thing may have hunted and scavenged, like every other predator on the planet. Which is pretty much what I've always assumed.
What else is new....
I stopped in to buy smokes last night. Also, I finally got more Zippo fluid. Which is kinda neat: the twelveounce cannister on my desk, which might be good for the rest of the year, has survived since 2003. So has my Zippo. Which is also interesting, since this is the first one I've managed to keep for more than five minutes. Historically, I'd buy one and manage to lose it the first day. So that's impressive, I think.
Also, I spent a few hours talking to Morphia about Deophagy and stuff. The plan now is to kinda reorganise the method: figure out what we're trying to do in advance, get that working, and then bring everyone in to catch up. Meaning that, between the two of us, we can get everything sounding about right, then just hand off a CD to everyone else and tell them to listen to it until they can mimic it. Pretty much what Reznor did before getting a band to cover his stuff. It should work.
So, there should be something finished and ready to upload by the end of the year. If things work out perfectly [and what are the odds], there could even be a disc before 2007.
Of course, the website could take longer. Just because the idea is a bit too complex to get it finished in a hurry. Also, the idea doesn't quite translate perfectly to visuals, even in CG. So it'll take some time, and/or be something simpler until the complex idea gets done.
I might have a bit more news, though it's way too early to go into any details on it. I got offered a part in a film. So far, I'm okay with it, since the character is essentially a cyborg and there would be enough prosthetics to avoid being on camera in any normal sense. We went through the treatment already, pending a completed first draft of the filmscript, and it sounds pretty good so far. If everyone's happy with the forthcoming details, there should be more to talk about within the next few months. So stay tuned, I guess.
More later....
