Shirts and Stuff

Got some news. Which makes sense, since I haven't written one of these things in four weeks.
Part of the problem is that Hunter tends to update her site seventeen times a day, so anything I'd add to mine gets a bit redundant. Not this time, damnit. Unless she's already beat me to it. Probably.
Anyway: here's the primary news....
I've been working on wastedinc.com today, which is its own news, in a minute. Meanwhile, also today, some stuff showed up from a couple places. And that's interesting.
I found a new place to outsource shirts and things. So, while I've been adding stuff I've been meaning to add for years to CafePress.com/wastedinc, I've also been adding a few things to PrintFection.com/wasted. At a glance, it's all the same stuff. But, actually, it's not. And I know that because, today, stuff showed up from both CP and PF.
This isn't perfect, since I'd got the ZOMBIE: eat flesh shirt from CP a few months ago, and I've since washed it. But, really, it didn't make a big difference. The other two came today, from PF:

On the left is the shirt from CP, and from a few months ago. It's just a black TShirt, since, at the time, that was the only black thing we had. We've got longsleeved ones now; but I haven't bothered getting one yet.
In the middle is a white TShirt from PF. Since this the the first time I've ordered anything from them, I thought I'd grab something simple to see how well it worked. Apparently, it worked pretty well.
Then, on the right, is a black longsleeved TShirt from PF. And that worked out nicely. What might not be obvious from the 640*480 shot is that CP's shirt has a slight white border around the image; PF's shirt hasn't got it, and instead printed the actual gradient I'd had in the original image. Click on the thing and wait for the five megapixel, four megabyte image to download to zoom in for a better look.
Then, here's where things become really interesting....

The shirts are all in the same spots, but turned around. CP's shirt hasn't got anything on the back. Because, so far, CP can't print on the backs of black shirts. We're waiting for that to happen. Personally, I've been waiting for the last five years, though we only got the black shirts at all in November 2005.
In the middle is PF's white shirt. CP can print on the backs of white shirts; though, the image is never this big. So, even though I don't wear white shirts, I kinda dig PF's ability to make even white shirts look pretty cool.
On the right. PF's longsleeved black shirt. How cool is that. In fact, the jpeg doesn't do it a lot of justice [the other two look a bit lesser on the screen than in the room, too]; it's seriously cool to see firsthand.
Five years ago, or so, I'd got some stuff screenprinted for JTP. Really, PF's black looks better than those do. They cost more, but they look better. And, to me, that's kinda what counts.
So. That's the news on PF. And it's pretty good news, I think.
As much as PF are better at printing on shirts, they're not as good yet at having a whole bunch of things to print on; also, their backend currently sucks, so it takes far too long to add new stuff at the moment. All this is supposed to improve sometime in 2007, though there are no dates announced yet. We'll see.
So, I've been working on CP's Wasted too. Keep an eye out for new stuff from Hunter, and a new supersection of watchmen. And other stuff I'm probably overlooking. And more stuff still as time goes by.
Which reminds me: After getting ResidentEvil for Hunter's black DSLite, I went ahead and got my own. That might actually be mentioned on her site, since the first thing we did once the two machines were online in the house was to start up the chatroom and send each other nice illiteratarded 1337 messages for a while. I think she got some shots of her screen, and probably uploaded them.
Meanwhile, playing Res on this thing is a bitch. It's the same PSX game from 1996; but the controls are tiny and not really in the best places for this game. The DSLite itself is okay; I've played games more directly designed for it on hers; Res just woulda been better on my PSP...something Sony and Capcom should really talk about. Soon.
Which further reminds me: I haven't even begun to beat the game on the DSLite yet. I should go do that for a few hours.
More later....
