Time Has Come Today
This is getting weird. Yesterday, I noticed without much warning that it was officially winter now. Today, I just discovered that it's not today, but tonight.
Mostly because I happened to crash on the sofa and, on waking up, saw only the clock on the DVR telling me that it was around five. My watch, this computer, and my phone are all telling me that it's now 18.12.
There's a reason for that, of course. There's no guessing when I'll be awake or asleep, so I figured out decades ago that military time works better than...whatever—civil time, I guess. Because, A) I never remember falling asleep [I'm not sure anyone does], and can rarely guess exactly how long I've been asleep when I wake up; and, B) introduce a headache into the whole thing, and I can magically go from sleeping for two or three hours to—potentially—two or three days.
I've overexplained all that elsewhere; but, it's the 'net, so you can't go more than a paragraph without linkreferencing something[citation needed].
And, B.1) I had a pretty good headache whenever I fell asleep.
I know I wrote yesterday's What's New, then looked at a few things for seconds or hours, then went off to play LegoStarWars with Hunter for...a while; then she got tired of that and went through whatever NetFlix.com had sent recently; then Quantum of Solice was playing [I ignored that in the cinema, primarily because there's something wrong with a bondfilm being less than two hours long]; and then, somewhere in the middle of a film curiously boring enough that, though less than two hours, it seemed like seventeen: I passed out. I guess. Because I didn't see the end credits. So: whatever time that was.
And then I woke up around dawn. Except that it was actually around dusk. So that's weird.
Meanwhile, just to stresstest the timespace continuum, I've got an inordinate amount of EMail today. Today being that span of time since I went though it roughly twenty-four hours ago. That was actually my first hint that it wasn't dawn around here; and then I noticed that the latest stuff was all from around seventeen hundred.
I know it's only the next day. What I'm starting to wonder is whether it's still the same year. I guess I'll find out when I publish this.
And then I'll probably go back to LegoStarWars for a while. Whether I keep going through the new game, or the one from April reminding me that it's 100%. If, that is, that was merely this April.
More later....
