He was one of the pioneers in insect thermophysiology, showing how insects handle the thermal demands of their environment, and how many can survive being endothermic, poikilothermic bradymetabolics. Truly one of the great scientists of the 20th century.

I remember coming across a recent Natural History paper that was about him and ravens. He was testing their wits with a set of puzzles on trees. I didn't read all of it, but it did appear interesting. You'll probably read all about it in the book.

As for the board, I've had my down times here as well, but I've never really felt compelled to leave. I just post when it feels appropriate and make sure to update my bookmarks everytime the address changes.
