Today I was helping my mother get ready for a
Christmas fair she is organizing. Aside from the fact that the tree we were given was about 5' tall and missing several branches, we were given no decorations from the town, and this rut of a town almost got away with charging us an extra $50 (on top of the standard $150) for useing the 'public community building' to benefit the 'non-frofit' chamber of commerce, things were going rather well. A friend of mine showed up and helped me get all the heavy work done. And a few other people showed up to set up their tables.
Then this lady Stephanie and a friend of hers came by with the decorations for the tree, which the commerce group had to supply themselves. Now Stephanie never actually liked me after I sucessfuly took over the local theatre group she started and then dumped on me. So she conveniently ignored me most of the time; at least until her friends food basket was stolen from her car - which was wide open and unattended in public.
I was talking to my friend when she came charging into the building screaming about how this $20 irreplacable food basket was stolen. So my friend and I decide to walk around outside and see if there was anyone around...and I didn't want to stick around to hear the rest of her bitching. As we're walking around we see her and her friend storming out of the building yelling about this stupid 20 dollar basket of food that her friend can't afford to replace and takes off. Ok she's gone now I can go home and play Splinter Cell which I have been wanting to do all night. I go home and after about five minutes there is a knock at the door, a cop...great.
Apparently Spephanie told the cop that I was out there at the same time this incident took place. Which I had to explain was complete bullshit. I told him what happened and he left. Although she's obviously pointed me out as suspect. Like I'm really going to steal a $20 basket of food and move it into my car - which was parked right next to her car. These people need a life, or the one they have painfully ended.
Sorry but I really had to vent about this one.
