It's an excuse. A really bad excuse.

It's a day when you're expected to give gifts to friends and loved ones, and spend time with your family. You're also expected to be nice to people, even when they're not nice to you. Which I'm just not into.

But about the gift/family thing. Really, if your family sucks, you shouldn't bother with them. If they don't suck, like my family doesn't suck, visit them, or at least call them. I had a gift opening thing with my mom over the phone today. [I got an RC deiosaur, a couple of candles, a tuna draining thing, the latest stephen king book, and my standard bags of chips, cookies, and fudge].

Giftmas shouldn't be what it is. I mean, beyond the everything's closed, can't even get food annoying day of the year that's led up to by fat annoying people screaming "EXCUSE ME I WAS LOOKING AT THOSE GAMES YOU HAD NO RIGHT TO TAKE ONE I MIGHT HAVE WANTED IT! SELFISH!"

Yeah, I know, that happens anyway. But it doesn't usually happen in an EB store; it's a KMart thing, because fat people don't regularly go into stores that are barely twice as wide as they are. Claustrophobia thing, I guess.

Anyway, yeah, you shouldn't be expected to buy people stuff on this one day; you shouldn't be expected to spend time with people you don't like on this one day. What people should do is buy other people things when they think of it, and visit their family when they can. If not, call them. Or you might end up regretting that you didn't, when you had the chance.
