I just got done telling someone that the 'difficulty' in posting to this board was foolproofing: preventing fools from posting this shit. Oh well....
To assume that you actually know anything on the subject of god is a common mistake made by our species, but to put down somebody else because they have a different view than you is pathetic and hopefully exclusive to arrogant cyber-atheists......
I doubt that this troll will be back to respond to this, but what the hell.... On the subject of 'god': On the subject of deities: So: if 'cyberatheists' are putting people down, then it's exclusive; if, as is more likely, theists are putting themselves down by claiming to be the creations of various deities who were too dumb to create a better universe than this, but which are somehow more intelligent than their theistic little creations...well, don't blame us for that. --Gremlin
God was an arcane Assyrian deity several thousand years ago. Relatively recently, its name was plagiarised to indicate Yhvh...probably because God is monosyllabic and easier for morons to spell.
There has been, to date, throughout the last eight thousand years of coherent human history, exactly zero exhibits of evidence showing deities to exist.
Even the definition of 'deity' is murky. It's rare to get the same definition from two different people. To me, that suggests that there are far more proposed deities than the several thousand we already knew about from Apollo to Zeus. It suggests also that the majority of people do not believe in 'God', as has also been suggested, but that the majority of people believe in something they can neither properly define nor prove to exist.
At present, on the subject, the numbers look something like this:
Catholics: 1,043,000,000 worldwide
Islamic: 875,000,000 worldwide
Atheistic: 850,000,000 worldwide
Buddhist: 360,000,000
Eastern Orthodox: 225,000,000
Angelican: 73,000,000
Assembly [generic christians]: 32,000,000
Jehovah's Witlesses: 15,374,986
Latterdays: 11,394,522
Seventhdays: 11,300,000
New Apostolics: 10,053,447
Ahmadiyya: 10,000,000
Bahai: 6,000,000
Why the buddhists are separate from the atheists is something I haven't figured out yet. Granting that neither beleives in deities, truly atheistic [without detial beliefs] homosapiens sum up to 1,210,000,000, beating out even the catholics in number.
Granting that everything from amoebae to dolphins are also atheistic sets atheism at approximately 100% of the universe.
