This is a little known fact about NASA which almost no one knows but I am going to pass along to this small population of the WWW.

NASA could give a shit less about safety. During the Apollo missions we were putting people on top of buildings designed to explode that had never successfully launched before in the 60's. All of America accepted that space exploration had acceptable inherent dangers involved with it,

So let me get this straight... putting enough Rocket fuel/slightly controllable explosives to power every residential address in the nation for a day behind the most complicated machine ever conceived on this planet is dangerous???

Every person that has had the pleasure of being a part of NASA knows that there is an inherent risk in going into space. But the one thing that almost everyone doesn't understand is that NASA is not the most documented program in human existence for safety.

NASA documents x-ray analysis of every nut and bolt in the space program so that when something fails they can research the scraps left over and blame one specific company that manufactured that part and sue them for liability.

A "disaster" like this has a huge impact on the professional sector on a massive scale. Liability insurance companies have to absorb this cost somehow... How many of you remember all the coverage about insurance companies after 911 and all the talk about insurance rates going up. Well this is the same thing. This failure in an extremely complicated system has set a 100 Billion dollar a year company back by at least 2 years and possibly as much as a decade. This is another nail in the coffin/box that confines our economy from getting back to the standard we deserve.

Well there is my 35 cents... I would only give a homeless guy only 2 cents.
