I do however believe in an underlying ORDER to the universe. There is evidence of this all around us, in the very fact that EVERYTHING can be calculated and explained by the same relatively easily understandable laws of mathematics. Mathematics is something that is built into the very fabric of everything. From brain wave patterns to cells multiplying, from the conditions at the moment of the big bang to the tidal forces of a black hole. EVERYTHING boils down to math. (and people wonder why they need to learn it in school)
The evidence of an underlying order to the universe is also flawed. Math is universal; but the belief that the occurrance of that math shows a design to exist is jumping to some major conclusions. You have to remember that we invented math; it wasn't precisely discovered. It could be argued that two pairs of two things have always equated to one set of four things, whether we'd noticed it or not; but most of the formulae we use to notice this stuff were invented for no other reason than to notice it again. The universe is a chaotic system; we just spot the few strands of exceptional order which prove the rule.
