I would like to take a moment to thank you for pointing out to me privately and in person my shortcommings!
Sarcasm just isn't your thing, is it?
I never claimed to have designed the stuff on the ea logo, I said I created the logo, big difference, the information that I recieved was that I had stolen the logo from another bussiness.
Well...let's just...
I personally hand drew the Exiled Angel logo, then I took that image and created the 3d computer rendering using the drawing as a basis for what I was looking for. I have retained the original artwork as well as the original files of the angel with their time stamps to prove ownership of her and as a matter of fact she has even changed once since the beginning.
Emphasis, obviously, added. But really, let's just look at that for a minute. Personally hand drew. Created the 3D computer rendering. Created. Rendering. Maybe it's just me and my understanding of English, but that looks like a claim, doesn't it? Not to mention 'original files'. Maybe you just need to, uh, THINK before you WRITE something. Choose your words carefully, because words tend to have a very literal meaning, and they will come back and bite you on the ass if you're not careful about which ones you use.
I drew a picture and then used poser to create a 3d rendering of what I was looking for. I used files that were given to me by a friend that did NOT come with the disclaimers, all he gave me was a cd with the raw files.
You might as well go back to the previous "I made it all by myself" literal translation, because the literal here is bordering on piracy.
There was NEVER any intention of stealing or using the files inapropriatly.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and misspelled words....
If you knew all of this, all you had to do was notify me,
Well, gee, there were those two meetings that nobody ever saw fit to show up for. Calling in less than an hour in advance...good way to work. Come on, you're a 'professional'; you should know that meetings are to be notified as 'off' at LEAST six hours in advance, if not more. Some of us have other things we could be doing. Like sleeping.
but thank you for the public crucifixion, if I can ever return the favor I won't hesitate.
Have fun trying. Really, I mean it....
I checked up on your claims and found them to be correct, I will be contacting the parties involved to either aquire permision to use them or remove them if requested, not a problem.
Now, will we be hearing back, second or third [or fifth] hand that we somehow made them refuse to let you use these things?
The whole problem arose when I was told that I had stolen the logo, I did not. I created it in poser, which was the whole reason I purchased the program to begin with, to create the angel, I would never have denied that,as a matter of fact, the original files that I saved are the poser files with thier creation date.
Okay, that was convoluted. So you're back to bitching about accusations of theft that were never made, and saying that you 'created' it in Poser, now? There's that word 'created'. Okay, it's called English. There's a whole bunch of words, and there's a whole bunch of ways to put them together. As someone who manages a band, and is in the position to have to make written and oral communications with other people in positions of power, it would behoove you to take a refresher course in this marvelous thing we call 'written communication'. Because maybe then you wouldn't have to backtrack and say 'no I didn't say that I said this' and be very, very embarrassed when it's shown that you did, indeed, say something, whether you 'meant to' or not. Like it or not, what you just said totally contradicts what you attempted to backslide on earlier....
I would also like to thank you for taking a private e-mail that was not even sent to you and blasting it in a public forum.
Hi. I'm Hunter. The guy who runs this place is Gremlin. Y'know, Gremlin, that webdesigner you say there's 'more than one of' who 'wouldn't do anything for free' because he's 'that good', but you can 'do better than him' in 'a half hour'. Y'know, gremlin@gremlin.net. The guy you sent the fucking EMail to. And by the way: "all submissions automatically become the property of gremlin.net and cannot be returned." Read the FUCKING DISCLAIMER.
Truly, if you had brought the logo stuff to my attention I would have appreciated it, thanked you and taken action, it is called common courtesy.
Point one: two attempted meetings at which these issues were going to be addressed. You know, the so-called 'bitchfests'. Point two: Hi. I'm Hunter. I don't owe anyone any common fucking courtesy. I'm known, and hated, for my tactlessness, my opinions, and my habit of being right about things before I go public with them.
It has been brought to my attention (albiet unprofesionally) at this time and I will take action.
Unprofessionally? How was any of this 'unprofessional'? It's on a website designed by a professional. It was posed in such a way as to be a professional, if opinionated, article. It's all very legal -- something that also indicates a modicum of professionalism. What's unprofessional is throwing a hissyfit, whether by way of EMail, or by third-hand phonecalled information, in which people claim that 'nobody ever goes to this forum so I won't respond there' or 'make him take it down or I'll get so and so who's rich and powerful after him'. But we'll not get into that.
Hell I even commented to several associates when I made her that she looked just like Tarna, hence the reason she changed later.
Taarna. Just like the filename. Taarna. And no, she doesn't look like Taarna; she looks like P4 Woman with a TaarnaSuit and an old-version sword, with DarkWorld's Archangel wings. That doesn't change the fact that it's Taarna.zip with archangel.zip with P4/Vicky, and an assload of other copyrighted materials, all made by people who happen to be associates, by proxy, of Gremlin, who happens to, oddly enough, have been doing CGI since before Jurassic fucking Park. And what associates? Why should I believe you when EVERYTHING I've seen up to this point has shown me that I shouldn't. Don't blame me; I'm not the one who ruined your credibility.
The logo has been removed from the page and will be replaced with a new one at a later date. A retraction was also published. Even though I do not condone the method that was used to bring this to my attention, I feel that I must thank you anyways for bringing it to my attention.
You're abso-fucking-lutely right. I should've EMailed Nerd3D, told them what was going on, and let them charge you $1,000. per instance of infringement/violation of user agreement. That would've been the way to tell you, wouldn't it? I mean, since you didn't have the 'common courtesy' to deign to attend a meeting. Oh yeah, and: That, oddly, looks like a challenge to me. And I was happy to accept the challenge. Thinking about it, I should have gone the literal route and notified the actual owners -- but my way was so much more fun.... ~Hunter, the EvilCoffeeChick PS: Grandiloquent, pompous speech or writing. Characterized by bombast; high-sounding; inflated.ostentatiously lofty in style; "a man given to large talk."These transformations can be viewed online at: http://www.exiledangel.com/angel/ feel free to send anyone that feels she is theirs to go and look. This page includes the original drawing before it was completed as well as a bonus picture, the angel as her human alter ego! I will be happy to challenge face to face or in court anyone that claims ownership of the angel or who dares accuse me of theft and personally I am pretty pissed off that someone even brought this up!!! Before someone accuses or even makes the comment that I stole from them they had better damn well be able to back it up.
