I'll try to articulate this without seeming dyslexic.
I've been looking into the Hovind case (Case Number 2002 CF 004020 A on the Escambia County Docket). I couldn't find the prosecutor who was assigned to this case at http://205.152.130.14/cv_web_1b.asp?ucase_id=12619523 and thought that seemed odd. I did, however, find the E-Mail of the judge who presided over the case. His name is Terry D. Terrell and there is some elementary information about him at http://www.yldfla.org/judges/circuit1/Terrell.html mostly regarding his education, but more importantly his contact information and address.
This is the extent of my communication with him:

Sir,
Forgive me in advance for not knowing how to address a judge in an E-Mail.
I mean no disrespect.
I was simply curious if a prosecutor was ever assigned to the Kent E. Hovind
case. I assumed there was one assigned, being as "Nolle Prosequi" was
announced. But I could not find anything about a prosecutor's assignment on
the online Escambia County records.
I recognize, even as a lay man, that your duties do not involve answering
trivial questions from teenagers. But any response (even a dismissal) would
be greatly appreciated.

Mr. Wilkerson,
A transcript of the proceedings on 12/09/02 would show that this case was
handled by Mr. Harry Stopp, ASA. I hope this is helpful.

I would have tried to contact Mr. Stopp, the prosecutor, immediately if I could have found any contact information about him online. Searching through the Escambia Country online records was of no help, though, nor was a google.com search.
So for a short time, eleven days, I let it go. Today, though, when I was browsing through my old E-Mails, I noticed in the header file of Judge Terrell's response that he had carbon copied the reply addressed to me to Mr. Stopp as well. Of course, he does not refer to him by his actual name, but as George "Harry" Stopp.
I'll let you form your own conclusions about that. My opinion is that it is odd that a judge would refer to a prosecutor by a nickname or inform him when someone is asking for information that should be public domain.
My first contact with Mr. Stopp is as follows:

George "Harry" Stopp,
I will keep this concise. For what reason did you declare "nolle prosequi"
in reference to Case Number 2002 CF 004020?
Joshua Wilkerson

For those of you who didn't catch it in my psuedo-header, the man's E-Mail address is harry_stopp@co.escambia.fl.us. While he might be more than willing to ignore a single E-Mail about his motivations behind dropping felony counts, I doubt he'd be willing to ignore a flood of them.
