Dan says: You say that there is no proof of God? Do you love your mother? Prove it. It is ok for a person to have faith and hope, which is why you, and everyone gets up every morning. Before fire was discovered did it mean that it didn't exist? Everything is possible and I, for one, believe that God is real.
Alcyonian replies: I don't love my mother. So I have nothing to prove. Your argument is as *strong* as a prostitutes hymen. "Before fire was discovered" there was NO fire. Until it's discovery, there would of been NO concept of fire. Nor does it require "faith" to know that another morning is going to arrive. The certainity scale, due to observation, and testability (cessium-atomic clock/orbit of the Earth, etc) there is an extremely high certainty ratio that the sun will rise the next morning - which does NOT require FAITH. As for love - love, like any emotion is subject to individualistic interpretation, though we can apply a generalised meaning, but the sheer fact that this is a cognitive function, also does not require faith. Also, state the definition of "real" that you use in conjuction with "God" re: what is the semantical definiton you are trying to apply? Also, revise your arguments, then maybe you can "debate".
