Our independent observations of the same event did pique my interest in trying to determine whether or not he was already dead. After seeing the video again, I can make out a bit of a scream, but it's hard to tell if it is really coming from him. There is also a part in the film where it looks like he was being restrained from arching his back, but it is something that could have been done by the guy holding him as well. I decided to download the long version of this from the myriad of websites that now house it (yeah, now it's easy to find). The one thing that stands out most throughout the entire video is how the time jumps between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00. Here's a rundown of what I noticed: Starts at: 1:26 Jumps to 2:18 while Berg is explaining himself. They start talking at 2:40 They pull him down to kill him at 2:44 The jump cut then shows 1:45 The head is removed and lifted up at 1:47 Then there is another cut (during this lift) that shows 2:46 End shot of Berg's head next to body is at 1:48 I can't say that it really shows much. If all the "capitated" shots of Berg were done at one time, and the killing at another time, then one might have something. Judging from the fact that the time jumps were going from 2-something to 13-something, I'm guessing that these guys just had two cameras and an inability to set the time on them. Well that, or there was a whopping 11 hour difference between takes.
