I finally got hold of the office, by calling them, once they'd opened at nine. After a bit of [recorded] bullshit about all this, the manger told me that, in fact, they're not remotely responsible for replacing anything destroyed in this situation, and that I should have insurance against phantom ice floes to get reimbursed. Which tells me, in a roundabout way, exactly what my next move is: escape.
So. Now, in addition to holding back the fucking water, I've got to pack. I might not be doing a lot of updates today. Or this week. Or however long this all takes me to deal with.
