More breaking news

This should probably be up at main.html, but I'm too damned tired to bother with it.
The good news: the morons running this place conceded that they're fucked, and must now move me, at their expense, to a new place.
The bad news: they can't do that.
     The reason: they just did.
Turns out that one of my neighbours, a building over, has had a problem identical to mine, since before mine began on Friday. So, while stalling on my issue, they've been dealing with hers--without bothering to explain this shit to me--and, now, are moving her into an available townhouse. Making it unavailable. Leaving me in my place by necessity.
The current estimate on my place, in regards to bringing it up to code, begins with tearing it down to rubble, removing that, and building a new place in the same spot. All, of course, while I'm fucking living here.
I talked to various 'droids with the city, county, state, country, planet, and Greater AlphaCentaurian Housing Department, which of course includes properties off in the unfashionable Solar District. At this point, I'm poised for checkmate. Seriously: I already talked to a very scary guy at the Aurora City Code Enforcement Nightmare; he's set to come out here, based on my story to date, casually glance at the building, and RedTag it. At which point everyone in the damned complex--my place; the building; the carpark; the company--are relocated to the Fucking Hilton, all our stuff being relocated to storage units, until or unless these dickweeds eventually bring everything up to code. Which, again, begins with tearing all the damned buildings down and starting over from the foundations up.
So, I'm starting to plan out my day here....
A couple of minutes ago, the electrician they sent to fix the plumbing [that's not a typo; I'm not that tired yet; they actually sent an electrical engineer over here to deal with fucking water; that's kinda like sending a cop to rob a store...okay, so that was arguably a bad analogy] just left for lunch, which I can't fault him for--partly because he was really very cool and helpful, even though he knows about as much about plumbing as I do. He, however, got further than I've dared to get: he shut off the fucking water to the building--a manoeuvre I first suggested on Friday. But who listens to me? I'm just a genius. I am the modern Prometheus.
So. The water's turned off. The leak has stopped. Why? Because I was lied to about the hot water pouring into my place being the result of ice melting after the morons upstairs left the water on and used the airconditioner which hasn't been activated yet [it's only ninety during the day in Denver at the moment; we'll wait until it gets hot to stop heating these places] by the same twit who lied to me about the landlords not being responsible for doing anything about this, replacing anything this destroys, and so on. Although a totally different liar assured me, in front of witnesses, that my mailbox would be fixed by three hours and thirty minutes ago.
Half the reason I'm so pissed by all this is that they made it personal by lying to me. That tends to upset me.
Anyway: that's the latest news. I'm sure there will be more soon enough....

PS: Hi, Kat--if you happen to be reloading the board occasionally to watch for updates; thanks again for your help.

PPS: To everyone else: one of the more helpful people I called about this, Kat, went ahead and hit gremlin.net for the explanation I'd already written down and uploaded, which covered part of the story; the rest of the story...I'll get that all written out and uploaded once I know exactly how it all ends.
