Actually, one of the things I enjoy so much about Silent Hill, is that it's rarely the continuation of the same story. The only main character in the SH series is the town. Having different characters and different storylines helps keep it fresh as there are less restrictions. With that said, though, I do admit SH2 was the weakest in the series. It had plenty of moments that were interesting to interpret psychologically, but it just wasn't that scary.
