And stuff
This is interesting.
After living here for two months, I'm still waiting for most of the stuff that's supposed to come with the place to be installed or fixed or whatever. Also, I'm still unpacking. The unpacking part is more fun, of course; I keep finding all sorts of neat stuff in boxes. Which Hunter then gets hold of and drags in front of her WebCam to show off at the entire 'net.

The Jason Voorhees hockeymask actually isn't quite as cool as the Don Post Darth Vader helmet from 1977 or so; but it's a lot easier to breath in.
Of course, everyone is now convinced that I'm secretly Mic from SlipKnot. Why not: same height, after all....
Anyway....
There is a bit of other news, of course. For one thing, Radio Free Duhmerica has replaced the Screaming Monkeys on the Atheist Network; so, in addition to the show on Sundays at noon, it's rerun at six in the morning and six at night on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
That actually works out nicely. If you hit AtheistRadio.com at six DenverTime you'll either catch RFD or InfidelGuy. So you win either way >:)
Once we have a few shows done here, I'll probably cycle different reruns on the weeknights, and keep adding the new shows to the Sunday slot. Otherwise, this will get boring in a hurry.
Meanwhile, we're bugtesting the living hell out of the new chatroom. Once it's finished, it'll end up here at gremlin.net. There's currently something in it causing it to crash at random, but it never crashes when we're actually logging its functions, so we're not sure what it is yet. Once that's fixed, we'll move into the beta phase and open it up. All that will be left at that point is writing macros and AutoCorrect functions [typing 'teh' AutoSwitches to 'the', for example] and so on.
The thing is actually pretty cool so far. It's a hypertext chatroom, so you can do a few things you can't do with IRC or chat.yahoo.com; it's buffered by JavaScript, so it doesn't have that annoying hypertext refresh clicking; and it's all layered over a CGI script written from Line One...which leads to a few bugs, but which also frees us up to do whatever we like with it instead of getting stuck with whatever the programmers thought we'd want.
We're also looking into VoiceChat and WebCam options with this thing, as well as an AI bot to chat with when no one else is in the room.
I don't really have an ETA on the chatroom, since we have to find the bug crashing the whole damned server before we can publicise it. Stop back and watch for news on it, I guess; I'll announce it when it's ready to use.
In other news: we're starting to play with Hunter's colorado.forces.org now. There's a lot of interesting stuff showing up in that area. It turns out that the EPA lost a case waged by the tobacco companies in 1998, and that the 'evidence' of the harmful effects of secondhand smoke wasn't actually proved by the scientific method. It didn't make the news though, and malls are still smokefree, based on the 'evidence' in the report.
I'm generally the last one to buy into a conspiracy theory, but it's really looking like someone is lying about a few things here.

Speaking of lies and propoganda, I'm back to playing against christianty a bit. People have been pressuring me to make a few more shirts for Damnitology; so I'm working on that. Go ahead and click here to see what's available so far....
We've got a couple other things to put together and add to the product mix; reload it every once in a while and see what's new there.
Also, since people have been asking, yes: I'll get round to putting together merch for Radio Free Duhmerica at some point. I'm not sure when yet. Soon. Ish. Perhaps.
Oh, and totally unrelated to that: I went ahead and mirrored Wolfeman_Psycho's MulletPage here at gremlin.net: gremlin.net/WolfeMullet. The GeoCities site where it began keeps locking up over bandwidth transfers. That shouldn't be a problem here.
I think that's about it for the news.
More later....
