What's New by Gremlin

Hellhound

Another week without an update. Which isn't quite accurate, or this would have gone up on Friday the thirteenth. Which would have been neat, since that disturbs people all to hell. For some reason.
Anyway: here's what's up.
Some of the more observant regulars may have noticed the new link on the left to HellhoundRecords.com. Which is, in part, the bugfix for ColdMoon.cc. ColdMoon are a local band who are now signed and about to begin touring, and who wanted a better website to get that point across. So we're in the process of making that happen.
For the moment, you'll probably be happiest hitting mp3.com/Cold_Moon to hear these guys. Otherwise, if you're in Denver, there's a concert on 27th December at the Bluebird at 3317 East Colfax. And yes: I've got a few tickets to give away; I'll figure out some sort of contest for that and let you know about it.
As for the new site, we're still playing with formatting ideas. Which means we've got the basic idea pretty well worked out, and now we're just trying to figure out how to do it small enough to download in under an hour.
The good news is that this all fits nicely into everything else going on here. ColdMoon already have some things going on with forthcoming films and videogames, and now we're talking about the musical elements of Deadache, too. Which is a perfect match, really.
About that: yes, we're still looking for people to do voices here. There's been a flood of EMail, phonecalls, and IRL stalkings all asking the same question: whether we still need people to play with this. Yes. But: the easiest way to do it is to EMail a .wav or .mp3 so we know what you sound like. I'm still in the process of building the characters, so I haven't got much to show anyone yet; but I've got a pretty good idea what the main characters should sound like, and I'm just watching for people who sound like that; the secondary characters are a bit less specific, so there should be something for everyone to do, in the end.
Meanwhile, I'm getting really tired of gremlin.net again. So I'm also playing with ideas for the new version. For those who have lost track, or are newish here, or don't really care, the version you're looking at is V12. On average, a new version drops into place every six months or so. So I'm working on having something different to replace this with on 4th January 2003.
That's a little more difficult than it might sound, of course. With the number of other sites I've got--none of which looks much like any of the others--I'm kinda thinking of consolidating the aesthetics a bit. Hunter's CoffeeChick.com is a bit of an example; she modified the sourcecode for gremlin.netV12 for her main site. So it might look good to have everything look like it all belongs together. Or something.
I'm not sure what V13 will look like yet. Of course, working on HellhoundRecords.com is giving me a few ideas.
I got another letter from Greenback. This one had a few specifics in it, so it's not really meant to be transcribed to a What's New. But one interesting factor is the whole naval churchgoing survey. If you saw the letter at the end of the last What's New, you already saw the statistics at the beginning. At this point, the christian element has cut itself in half. Joining the navy might be a good way to cure theism, or something. Which is good, since I can't think of any other reason to join the navy.
The last What's New also has Greenback's current mailing address, in case you want to send him a letter. And, since someone brought this up: sending cigarettes is probably a bad idea. Cigarettes seem to be available; he's just not allowed to have any while training to defend the freedom to have cigarettes.
This country bothers me.
Anyway: I should get back to figuring out the new site for a while.
More later....
