What's New by Gremlin

Version the Thirteenth

V13 is done now. Most of the site is still coded for V12, but I'll switch all that over on the thirty-first.
I was going to wait until 4th January to switch versions, but A) I'm pretty well ready to switch them now, and B) it makes a little more sense to switch them on the first day of the year. So you'll see that in about five days.
Naturally, V13 is different enough in structure that it won't be easy to switch everything over. So the old What's News and the messages on the board will remain as they currently are. I have far better things to do than go through a thousand different files, altering the coding around the JavaScript.
On the bright side, V13 should slide easily into V14, sometime around July.
So there's that.
In other news, I'm still working on all this other stuff. Including, of course, HellhoundRecords.com. That's been problematic--mostly because we've got all these great ideas for the site, and none of them appears to be especially possible yet. I'll have to come up with something less ambitious until either the technology catches up to the design, or I figure out a way to make it work in modern times.
Deadache is still in the planning stages. Specifically, Deadache is in that stage where I'm trying to limit the number of programmes I'm going to use to create it. I might be able to do the whole thing in Maya, but it's not really going along with a few things I had in mind. Otherwise, Poser works well for moving people here and there, but isn't too interested in letting me use most of the inanimate objects I wanted to have in the scenes. What I'm trying to avoid doing is rendering the background in LightWave, the characters in Poser, and the foregrounds over both in LightWave again. It works well to do it that way, but it takes entirely too much time.
What I'm really after is the ability to film an entire show per week. As it is, it'll be more like a show per month. Which works well enough online, I suppose. We might end up doing this monthly after all.
Of course, we're still looking for people to do voices for the show. The current trend is to find someone who can do voices, and accidentally create new characters in the process. So the main characters are still largely open. Which means I can't even film a trailer yet.
I'll try to get the Dramatis Personae done sometime this week. Maybe it'll help if people can see the sorts of characters we need voices for....
wastedinc.com is updated slightly. There are a few new things throughout the site. Watch for those.
And...I think that's it for now. No real news; I was just tired of seeing the Giftmas What's New on the screen all the time.
More later....
