If souls exist, they wouldn't be physical. They would be made of the same "material" as the God who would have created them. They would be composed of the "spirit" material, which is undetectable. As far as only 144,000 being reserved in Revelation, that's an inaccurate interpretation. There are 144,000 from Israel. The passage continues to say there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language.
