Books aren't evidence anyway. Evidence is testable and retestable. A book illustrating that its author doesn't know what evidence is fails to prove anything else.
In reality, it doesn't really matter much. Things which actually exist can be shown to exist through the scientific method. Even myths and legends.
Which, incidentally, happens all the time. Before the discovery, testing, retesting, and cataloguing of A.dux, the giant squid was mythical. It's not anymore. Whether we'll ever see the discovery, testing, retesting, and cataloguing of, say, Thalassomedon nessensis is another matter; if the LochNessMonster exists in reality, then I suppose we'll have proved it one of these decades.
Whether we ever discover, test, retest, and catalogue Theos christos, or whatever, is also another matter. But, the day a deity is proved to exist, I doubt the 'proof' these twerps proffer will be anything but a link to the front page of cnn.com.
