I know the 'prime time' slots are when they show more 'adult content' on television, because the kiddies are supposed to be in bed, so it's okay...but I can see a VD commercial on during the day while I'm watching Dr. Phil and eating ice cream and my kids are awake...
It's the idea that VD is an okay thing for the kids to see, but not tits and ass...The Christian hegemony that does control the US in matters such as these is awful weird like that...
It's also not that I am actually bothered by the VD commercials (any more than I am bothered by anything else), it was just a thought that occurred to me.
On a related note:
I do wonder how much those actresses are paid to act in those VD commercials. I know you'd have to give me a hell of a lot of money to frolic in a carefree fashion on the beach and then announce happily to the camera that I have genital warts, but it doesn't slow me down...
