Greetings Mister Hovind, I only have a couple questions. Just recently on Yahoo chat, I talked to someone who claimed to work in your ministries and run your website. He was in under the alias sweet_guy_designer. My first question is does this person truly work for you? Another item that was bothering me is he claimed multiple times that you would ONLY engage in a phone debate or a debate over the radio. Now any reasonable person would agree that neither of these are very suitable venues for a debate, and in fact are rather time consuming, inefficient, and wasteful. I was more than willing to have a debate with you, but only over an unmoderated electronic medium. This has many advantages over a verbal debate. For one thing, the participants and read, check sources, and reply to their opponants arguments at their own leisure and do so much more completely and thoroughly than in a verbal debate. Another advantage is the deceitful tactics used by some of the more dishonest debaters (on both sides), such as rapid firing questions that require essay long answers, quickly emitting multiple-catchphrases, or quickly issuing several strawmen without giving the opponent time to formulate a proper refute, don't apply over an electronic medium. When I suggested this method to sweet_guy_designer in Yahoo chat, he said you do not engage in these types of debate because A) You do not like to type, and B) You are much too busy, and that I was free to call up and have a debate at any time. Now this seems rather odd to me, if your schedule is too packed to take several minutes out of the day (at your convenience even!) to write an email, then why is it you are free for a phone debate at any time? Another question is if you do not like to type, why don't you just dictate to one of the people employed at your ministry so they'll type it? Or, if time is a constraint, why not just record your voice on tape, then have them type the tapes contents at their convenience?
I would more than welcome an online debate with someone of your popularity, and reputation, and I fail to see any reason why it would be so inconvenient for you not to. You could post the debate on your website, I could post it on mine, and we could reach literally millions of more people than we ever would with a simple verbal debate.
So how about it? A debate like this would require the discussion of scientific concepts, hypotheses, and theories, and a verbal debate is simply an unacceptable medium for this due to the complexity and lengthiness of the aforementioned theories. It would seem a forum debate, or an email debate would be the only reasonable alternative.
My offer stands open, I am willing to debate the subject of your choice over an electronic forum. Email me back at dqstyx@yahoo.com with
