I'm pretty much in agreement with Morphia on this one. I do think that some (if not many) of the claims that topplerummy made were dubious at best. One of the downsides to finding flaws in politically charged videos is that every conspiracy nut in the world is ready to jump up and say it's a hoax, or elaborate coverup.

With that in mind, I think the statement that Berg was dead prior to the beheading is pretty valid. Exactly what this implies is open for debate.

The observations that all these guys had white (pale, at least) hands is also interesting. I've seen the video and I can certainly agree that the time jumps are very strange. At the very least, these guys did do some fairly heavy editing prior to the video's release. The guy holding the head at the end does change as well.

Again, what all this means is open for debate. I will say this though, if this was a hoax, then it was an incredibly badly done one. Many of the video problems that topplerummy mentioned, could have been easily avoided (e.g. turning off the time display). It almost comes off as being intentionally incompetent.

Was it all staged by the Bush administration in order to take flack away from the whole Abu Ghraib fiasco? Was it done by personnel at Abu Ghraib in order to take pressure off of them? I don't know, and I don't really care. Questioning the facts about the video itself was interesting. As for the motives behind these facts, well let's just say I'd have more fun discussing the motives behind the run away Tyrannosaurus in The Lost World.
