What's New by Gremlin

Hey look: updates....

A few new things to ponder.
First and foremost, since people keep complaining about it: I went ahead and set up a new MessageBoard. I was going to wait until the beginning of July for that, but the old one is too large to be downloaded by the few people still on dialups.
The old board still exists; and you can still reply to the posts there; new threads can be started on the new board.
So there's that.
I also added [or, in a way, resurrected] a reviews section. Including negative reviews, of course [if people are going to slam the grempire, I might as well collect it all into one place]; although, since it's largely morons who complain about this site, you can expect a few typos; I've corrected them to make things more coherent.
Postive reviews are fair game too. Not that there are as many of those--possibly because the people who like this site are outnumbered all to hell.
Then there's one more update--so new that I haven't even made it yet. But it involves RFG. And it's not what you're expecting.
Radio Free Grempire could have been a good idea. Most of the feedback we got over the show suggested that it was a good idea. Or, more accurately, that it was presumed to be a good idea, by people who weren't fully aware what the idea really was.
RFG got typecast. And that was mostly my fault. It was broadcast on the Atheist Network, and it dealt with issues of theism. Enough so that our attempts to deal with other issues were met with hostility: we were doing something wrong with our show, which we had created, when we started talking about things like flagburning. That suggests that the message was lost somewhere.
In all probability, we could just push past all that. RFG could continue and broaden into the other areas we'd intended to discuss. It would probably work; it has before. This site began as something almost completely different than what it's become. Change is good. Mutation. Evolution. Amelioration.
There's the other matter.
When gremlin.net first came online, it contained News of the Stoopid. At the time, it was a sort of slant on News of the World. That there was already an unrelated News of the Weird was something I'd overlooked back then.
The point is that News of the Stoopid is pretty much what its name suggests: news of idiotic stuff.
In the case of Radio Free Grempire, it's a name better suited for some sort of broadcast What's New regarding this site, and the sites associated with it. And that's not really the idea behind the show.
That Radio Free Grempire was a slant on Radio Free America is also something to take into consideration.
So.
I'm currently in the process of writing Duhmerica--both the book and the website. And one thing I'm writing into the website, and mentioning in the book, the the new radio show: Radio Free Duhmerica.
Clicking on that link in the first several seconds after I upload this will get you a 404 error from duhmerica.com; after that...who knows. Whenever I get done setting up the new site, I'll upload it. Watch for it.
Whether RFD is going to be on FTR is something I can't quite guess yet. I'm currently waiting to hear back from Clint on a few things.
In any event, it will happen somewhere--even if it's just left at duhmerica.com.
So: that's the news. For now.
More later....
