: Now we're just waiting on Silent Hill: the Motion Picture to explain why there are a bunch of undead pterasaurs flying about town.
Funny you should mention that (10 days ago), as the pre-production for Silent Hill: The Motion Picture, has just started. Bloody-disgusting.com was recently e-mailed by Dark Aura Entertainment, letting them know that a Silent Hill movie has just been green lighted. In a sorta comforting note, the e-mail let the fans of the series know that their goal with the movie is to revolutionize both videogame to movie films, and especially, horror films. Assuming this is not just a bunch of marketing smoke, this movie could turn out to be very good. I've always feared an adaptation of Silent Hill to the big screen. The series is a lot like the Metal Gear series in that both are brought to life so perfectly in their videogame form that a foray into movies isn't necessary and probably wouldn't be an improvement. Hopefully I'm wrong in this case. Any film that succeeds in bringing the terror associated with those games onto the big screen, would probably go down in history as being the scariest film of all time. It would certainly get in the record books for the amount of fog machines required. :) The Dark Aura representatives also encouraged suggestions for the film in their e-mail. So if anyone has any neat ideas, there just might be a chance that someone might listen to them. Hopefully they don't forget the siren. The bloody thing sent a chill down my spine every time it went off.
