.com .net and .org are almost irrelevant. You're still technically supposed to have a .org if you're claiming to be an NPO [although I'm guessing .npo is coming up soon], and you're still technically not supposed to have a .org if you're not an NPO, but that's all about as deregulated as it gets.
You still can't get a state.[abbreviation].us unless you live in that state, and then you've got to know the channels to go through [and who'd want one?].
As it stands right now, according to 'netlore', .tv doesn't even belong to "Tuvalu" anymore. It designates a 'television' type thing.
And really, if it really were Tuvalu's concern [and since they're kinda disappearing, it sure doesn't matter to them], I don't think they'd be charging the value of the URL as rent per year, now would they?
