CarbonDating has been confirmed valid to fifty thousand years. Beyond that, there's the entire geological record. It's an accepted fact that the planet is 4.6 billion years old. The universe, of course, is at least twenty billion, although I'm personally guessing that the current universe is closer to 200 billion years old. And, granting that matter and energy are applicably eternal, the universe itself has logically existed in some form for ever; big bangs are likely cyclic.
